Programs: Minor in German Studies

The minor in German Studies consists of 15 credit hours of German coursework calculated in one of the following manners. A minimum of six (6) hours in the minor must be taken in residence at Kennesaw State University.

  1. If a student is required to take a Foreign Language 2002 level class as part of his/her major program in the area of Lower Division Major Requirements (AREA F):

    German 3200 – Critical Reading and Applied Writing
    German 3302 – Practical Conversation
    German 3303 – Grammar and Composition

    Plus, two additional courses at the 3000 or 4000 level. This may include study abroad or internships.
  2. If a student is NOT required to take German 2002 as part of his/her major program in the area of Lower Division Major Requirements (AREA F):

    German 2002 – Intermediate German Language and Culture II
    German 3200 – Critical Reading and Applied Writing
    German 3302 – Practical Conversation
    German 3303 – Grammar and Composition

    Plus, one additional course at the 3000 or 4000 level. This may include study abroad or internships.

Notice – When you declare a formal minor, it will NOT be displayed on your transcript. When you petition to graduate, you must inform the registrar that you have either completed or are in the process of finalizing the coursework required for a minor. In order for your minor to appear on your transcript, you must fill out a special “Minor Form” with the registrar when you petition to graduate.
