Profile

Dr. William (Bill) C. Griffin, is professor of French. After completing his B.A in French and International Studies at the University of NC-Chapel Hil and studying at l'Université de Lyon, France, he completed the M.A.T. in French at Appalachian State University. In 1980, he received the Ph.D. degree in French from the University of Alabama. Returning to AppState in 1978, Dr. Griffin taught for the next ten years in the Interdisciplinary Studies-Watauga College residential college program and then moved, in 1990, to the Department of Foreign Languages & Literatures where he served as Chairperson and Professor of French from 1990 to 1996. He came to Kennesaw State University in 2003 to accept the position of Chair of the Department of Foreign Languages and Professor of French, a position he held until June 2013. His interests range from 19th-century French literature to the use of computers in second language acquisition and teaching.
