The part-time positions advertised below are filled on an "as needed" basis.

Japanese

The Department of Foreign Languages at Kennesaw State University seeks candidate for appointment as part-time instructor in Japanese language, beginning in January 2010. Responsibilities include teaching up to three classes per semester. Required qualifications: enthusiasm/interest in teaching communicative, learner-centered, beginning Japanese language and culture courses; a Master's degree in Japanese or in a related field. Ph.D.s or ABDs in Japanese are welcome, and previous experience in teaching Japanese at the college level is preferred.

Chinese

The Department of Foreign Languages at Kennesaw State University seeks candidate(s) for appointment as part-time instructor(s) in Chinese language. Responsibilities include teaching up to three classes per semester. Required qualifications: enthusiasm/interest in teaching communicative, learner-centered, beginning Chinese language and culture courses; a Master's degree in Chinese or in a related field. Ph.D.s or ABDs in Chinese are welcome, and previous experience in teaching Chinese at the college level is preferred.

Foreign Language Eduction (FLED)

The Department of Foreign Languages at Kennesaw State University seeks candidate(s) for appointment as part-time instructor(s) in foreign language education on an ongoing basis. Responsibilities include supervising field experiences of teacher candidates, including student teaching, up to 8 candidates (4 per class section) per semester. Minimum requirements: a Master’s degree in FLED, linguistics or education with a foreign language concentration, and a strong background in teaching one of the languages offered in the Department. Equivalent academic credentials in combination with teaching/supervision experience considered. Candidates must meet SACS requirement of 18 graduate hours in the teaching field. Candidates must have at least advanced-mid proficiency in the second language and native or near native fluency in English. Highly desired: a record of successful teaching experience; experience supervising student teachers.

Responsibilities include teaching up to two classes per semester. Required qualifications: enthusiasm/interest in teaching communicative, learner-centered, beginning French language and culture courses; a Master's degree in French or in a related field with a minimum of 18 graduate hours in French. Ph.D.s or ABDs in French or Francophone Studies are welcome, and previous experience in teaching French at the college level is preferred.

The Department of Foreign Languages at Kennesaw State University seeks candidate(s) for appointment as part-time instructor(s) in Italian language. Responsibilities include teaching up to two classes per semester. Required qualifications: enthusiasm/interest in teaching communicative, learner-centered, beginning Italian language and culture courses; a Master's degree in Italian or in a related field with a minimum of 18 graduate hours in Italian, or Italian Laurea in lettere or in a related field. Ph.D.s or ABDs in Italian/Italian Studies are welcome, and previous experience in teaching Italian at the college level is preferred.

Required qualifications: Master's degree or higher in German language, linguistics, or literature, native or near-native proficiency in German and English, and excellence in teaching.
