Dr. Léger is Associate Dean of the College of Humanities and Social Sciences and Associate Professor of French. He was born and raised in Normandy, France. After receiving his B.A. and M.A. in Psychology from the Université de Caen, he came to the United States in 1987 and enrolled in the M.A. program in French literature at Washington University in St. Louis. He received his M.A. in 1989 and his Ph.D. in 1995 from Washington University.
Thierry Léger was an Assistant Professor of French at Marquette University in Milwaukee for three years before joining the faculty at Kennesaw State University in 1997. His first assignment at KSU was Acting Director of the Foreign Language Resource Center (1997-1998). From 1998 to 2002, he was Assistant Professor of French. Since 2002, Thierry Léger has served in various administrative positions, first as Interim Department Chair of the Department of Foreign Languages, then as Interim Assistant Dean, Interim Associate Dean and, starting in 2005, Associate Dean of the College of Humanities and Social Sciences. His main areas of responsibility include interdisciplinary programs, education programs, diversity, assessment, and space and schedule management. In addition to administrative duties, he teaches French language and literature courses at all levels. His research interest includes diversity and assessment as well as second language acquisition and contemporary French and Francophone literature. Thierry Léger is an editor of the KSU Department of Foreign Languages Undergraduate Online Journal Kennesaw Tower and the Secretary-Treasurer of the CIÉF [Conseil International d’Études Francophones, International Council on Francophone Studies]
