Dr. Sabine H. Smith is a Professor of German and serves as Section Head of KSU German Studies. She regularly teaches all levels of the undergraduate German Studies curriculum and the interdisciplinary course “World Languages and Cultures.” Her primary research area is the scholarship of teaching and learning, with a focus on international education and foreign language acquisition.
Dr. Smith received her MA in American Studies, with Minors in Spanish and German Studies from Johannes-Gutenberg- University of Mainz, Germany. After having taught for two years in the English Department at the University of California at Davis (UCD), she earned her PhD in German Studies with a Designated Emphasis in Feminist Theory and Research at UCD. She joined the KSU faculty in 1997.
