Profile

Dr. Meng received a BA in Chinese language and literature from Renmin University of China and an MA in English from State University of New York at Oswego. His Ph.D. in Chinese literature was earned at the University of British Columbia. He also took a one-year training program in Chinese linguistics at Beijing Normal University to prepare for the teaching of Chinese language. Prior to joining the faculty at Kennesaw State University, Dr. Meng taught Chinese language, literature, culture, and civilization for many years, first at Central University of Finance and Economics and Capital Normal University in Beijing, and then at the University of British Columbia, Carleton College, and Central Washington University in North America. His research and scholarly interests include Chinese language pedagogy, Chinese poetry, Chinese women’s literature, and Yuan to Qing vernacular fiction.
